JAMMU, Nov 22: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rajesh Bindal has directed Divisional Commissioner Jammu as well as J&K State Cable Car Corporation to file status report within one week regarding the date on which the Jammu Gandola is expected to be inaugurated.
The direction was passed in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Inderjeet Khajuria, President All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association.
After hearing Senior Advocate BS Salathia with Advocate Ashish Sharma for the PIL, DB further directed Divisional Commissioner to take pro-active steps with regard to notifying the budding by installation of public hoardings, jinglings or short films on the electronic media with regard to the penalties for defacement and littering.
Earlier, the Division Bench was informed by AAG FA Natnoo that the land measuring 05 Kanals and 17 Marlas has been handed over to the J&K State Cable Car Corporation to enable it for completion of the project.
