JAMMU, July 24: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding use of ‘tinted glasses’ on the vehicles and ‘eve teasing’, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjeev Kumar today directed IG Traffic to file response within four weeks failing which he shall appear in person before the court on next date of hearing.
After hearing Advocate Nadia Qadeer for the PIL whereas Government Advocates Sanjeev Padha and Mehvish Shah for the State, the DB observed, “this PIL in which the issues with regard to ‘tinted glasses’ and ‘eve teasing’ in the public vehicles have been raised, is pending since 2011”, adding “though from time to time, many status reports have been filed yet the respondents have not filed the preliminary objections till today”.
The DB granted four weeks time to IG Traffic for filing response. “If the response is not filed on or before the next date of hearing, IG Traffic shall remain present before this court on 28.08.2017”, the DB directed.
