JAMMU, May 15: All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation (JKLTF) has asserted for filling all administrative posts of School Education Department (SED) from amongst the rank of school teachers.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the federation held here today under the chairmanship of Balwan Singh Jamwal. The meeting took strong exception to the Government’s move side tracking the federation demand in particular and the teaching community’s view point in general that all administrative posts of the SED be filled from amongst the school cadre.
The meeting while condemning the tendency of usurping the posts of school teachers strongly pleaded for filling up all posts of Joint Directors, Board of School Education exclusively from amongst the school cadre.
The federation also denounced the process of adhocism. The speakers said that some regularizations are made after retirement while in some cases the promotes are fortunate enough to reap the harvest of regularization in their life time, therefore federation demands immediate regularization of all Headmasters, ZEOs, Lecturers, CEs and Joint Directors and for future a concrete and fool proof policy of instant promotion and regularization.
The speakers also took some strong exception of shifting all blame of poor results of the schools on the teaching community solely and called upon the Education Ministry to organize an open debate at all district headquarters to find out reasons and responsibilities for poor results and in such seminar and debate, representatives of teacher organizations be invited to participate.
The Federation also demanded release of pending salary of SSA /RMSA teachers and Mid Day Meal grants for the smooth running of the scheme.
