KISHTWAR, Nov 29: Expressing concern over the plight of patients due to the failure of the authorities to fill up the vacant post of Radiologist in District Hospital Kishtwar, Shamsher Singh Bhandari senior Congress leader and member Civil Society Kishtwar has demanded that the vacant posts of doctors and para medical staff be filled up in the Hospital at an earliest.
In a statement issued here today, he said CT Scan, MRI and Ultra Sound etc have been installed in the Hospital but there is no specialist to conduct the test of the patients. He said patients admitted for serious ailments in the hospital are referred to Jammu for conducting CT Scan, MRI and other tests due to lack of radiologist in the Hospital.
Bhandari said on one hand the Government is claiming to open more medical colleges and AIIMS in the State and on the other hand it is not providing staff to the existing district and sub district hospitals. When the Government is unable to runt the existing hospitals properly how can it run new medical colleges or AIIMS type medical institutions is a million dollar question, he added.
