Finalize new Jammu Master Plan exercise within 2 months: DB

JAMMU, Dec 7: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today granted two months time to the State for finalizing the exercise with regard to new Master Plan of Jammu.
The direction was passed in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding unauthorized constructions in city of Jammu.
When the PIL came-up for hearing, Division Bench observed, “in pursuance of earlier directions, compliance report has been filed by Additional Secretary to Government, Housing & Urban Development Department regarding preparation of Revised Master Plan”, adding “it is stated in the report that steps were taken, objections were received from the general public and placed before the Board of Inquiry on 02.09.2016”.
“The sustainable objections were finalized after threadbare discussions and all sustainable objections in the Revised Master Plan Jammu 2032 are being addressed on Geographical Information System platform”, the DB said, adding “after addressing all the aspects, the area calculations of existing and proposed land use is in progress and 75% of report documents have been completed chapter wise and the work is going on at required pace which shall be completed within two months”.
