JAMMU, July 18: All Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Lineman and Workers Union has appealed the Government to fix responsibility for incidents of electric shock during work and also arrange financial assistance in favour of the victim linemen.
A meeting of the Union was held today under the chairmanship of Suresh Anthal for expressing concern over the death of lineman Partap Chand at village Kamore Purota in Vijaypur while working on electric lines and serious injuries to lineman Durga Dass who suffered electric shock during work at village Baria in Ramnagar.
The meet threatened that if no financial assistance is provided by the Government to the victim families, the Union would resort to agitational path.
The meeting was attended by Ashiq Hussain, Surinder Kumar, Bodh Raj, Paras Ram, Kartar Nath, Vijay Kumar and others.
