JAMMU, June 30: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department (FIID) under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural in collaboration with NABARD organized Financial & Digital Literacy Awareness Programmes at village Chowki Choura near here on the theme of ‘Credit Camp cum awareness among Farmers, Students & Non-Farm working groups.’
The programme was properly followed with social distancing norms in view of COVID-19 pandemic. Dignitaries presents on the occasion were Shamsher Singh, HOD FIID J&K Grameen Bank, Regional Manager Sahil Sharma and Upinder Sharma, Senior Manager from Regional Office Jammu, AEO Rakesh Sharma and BDC Chairman Rahul Sharma.
They all sensitized the participants about agricultural developments in banking sector and latest Government schemes and emphasized that the aim of the awareness programme is to inform the gathering about the benefits of availing KCC credit cards and Government schemes that have been designed to provide security to the poor population particularly to those who are working in unorganised sector.
Around 104 KCC applications were sanctioned to the tune of Rs.60 lakh during the awareness camp. NABARD schemes like Farmers Club, SHG, JLG and other Dairy and Agriculture loans schemes were highlighted.
Visitors were also informed about different loan schemes of the banks and about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, Use of POS Machine, PMJDY RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions, NEFT, RTGS, etc.
