SAMBA, Mar 10: Intensifying drive against traffic norms violation with main focus to check the problem of overloading of passengers, District Police Samba booked driver of vehicle for overloading and seized the vehicle plying on Sumb-Samba route.
A police party of P/s Samba while performing routine patrolling, intercepted an overloaded minibus bearing Registration Number JK14B-5762 at Sumb-Samba road, which was moving towards Samba and arrested its driver namely Dalbir Singh, S/o Balwan Singh, R/O Chandni, Sumb. The driver had been booked for overloading of passengers and putting their lives at risk. The said vehicle was so heavily overloaded that some passengers were on the roof top of the vehicle.
A case FIR No. 58/2020 U/S 336 IPC has been registered at P/s Samba and further investigation started.
SSP Samba Shakti Pathak and Additional SP, Samba Faisal Qureshi have made an appeal to all the drivers of the passenger vehicles plying in different routes across the district Samba to strictly obey the traffic rules and any violation in this regard will be viewed very seriously. The similar type of drive against the traffic norms violators will be intensified in the coming days.
