JAMMU, Apr 3: On the direction of CJM Jammu, Bakshi Nagar Police today registered a case against Dr Aniece Choudhary, Principal of Government Medical College Jammu under Sections 166/323/336/341/352/491/504 RPC.
The CJM issued directions to the police for registration of FIR against GMC Principal in the complaint filed by Ashish Sharma, a practicing lawyer.
According to the FIR, on March 31, 2013 the complainant along with others went to the GMC for the treatment of mother of his friend namely Uma Shanker Sharma. However, the complainant came to know that the junior doctor had suspended their work and declared strike.
When the complainant and others tried to persuade some of the junior doctors to attend the patient, they were told to approach Principal GMC. On this, the complainant approached Police Post GMC following which Dr Aneece was contacted and thereafter he visited the emergency wing.
The complainant tried to persuade the Principal to ask his doctors to resume their work at least in the emergency wing where the patients were lying unattended. However, Principal refused to take any action. On being repeatedly pressed for ensuring treatment of the patient, Principal pushed the complainant and also used abusive language.
