FIR lodged against JKPCC for theft

SRINAGAR, May 11: Police in Baramulla has registered a theft case against the employees of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) after a contractor filed a complaint with the Police.
Police has launched an investigation against a dozen of employees of the Baramulla division of the JKPCC in theft case.
The contractor Mushtaq Ahamd has accused the employees of JKPCC of stealing and selling the departmental material meant for the construction of Tehsil Complex Kreeri in Baramulla district.
Police has seized some of the material during the investigation. A senior police officer said that employees of the JKPCC are being questioned for stealing and transporting and selling huge quantity of iron, cement, wooden frames, shuttering, generator and other items.
The contractor alleged that the theft took place over last few months and he was being pressurized by the employees against reporting the Police.
SDPO Kreeri, Rameez Raja, told Excelsior that an FIR has been lodged and some of the material was seized.
