FIR lodged in Ramban incident

JAMMU, May 17: The police has registered an FIR against the company/contractors/field staff involved in road widening activity at Seri near Ramban where 2 persons were killed, 9 vehicles damaged and seven others injured in the incident last evening.
A police officer said that on the directions from the top an FIR No. 68/2020 under sections 337/304-A has been registered for negligence involving massive damage of vehicles and deaths of persons on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. He said while vehicles were moving on the highway, the machines were simultaneously were allowed to operate on the hilly side by the company operators/ staff. A team of officers has been constituted for investigation.
Two persons namely Khalid Ahmed, son of Mohd Latief from Bhem Dessa in Sangaldan area of Gool and Raj Kumar, son of Chuni Lal, resident of Dharmund Batote were killed on Saturday when the land slides took place on highway at Seri in Ramban. The injured included- Banarsi Lal from Tope Sher Khania Jammu, Bachiter Ram, Kaka Ram, Bittu Ram and Raj Kumar from Dalwas near Ramban, Tanveer Ahmed from Batote and Somi Raj from Peerah.
