Expressing suspicion that thieves might have set the bank branch on fire after stealing the money, locals appealed the district administration and the police department to conduct a thorough investigation in this regard.
SDPO Headquarters Doda Jaswant Singh told Excelsior that SHO Doda Arun Sharma and Tehsildar Gundana Daljeet Singh Parihar visited the spot and took over the CCTV footage of the Bank branch. Police have registered an FIR in this regard and started investigation, he added.
BDC Chairman Sarshad Natnoo said there is a lot of anger among the people as despite repeated requests of stationing a fire tender vehicle at Tehsil Gundana Head Quarter, the authorities remained unmoved. If there was a fire tender vehicle, this bank could have been saved, he added.
