KATHUA, May 30: A fire broke out at Bus Stand Bani late last night at about 12.15am causing damage to four shops. Soon after the news of the fire spread, police party led by SHO, Bani, Arjun Magotra, tehsildar, Bani, Sudesh Kumar Sharma, CRPF, Army personnel, locals, reached at the spot to douse the flames.
In the fire incident two shops belonging to Sanjay Kumar, son of Nand Lal and Rakesh Kumar son of Ved Prakash were completely damaged. After this incident DDC Bani Reeta Devi contacted Chairman DDC Kathua Col. (retd) Mahan Singh and DC Kathua and requested them to immediately issue compensation to the fire victims.
As per the statement of SDM Bani, Satish Sharma that Revenue team has been deputed to assess the damage of shops and the compensation will be released soon.
