JAMMU : Panic gripped the bordering belts of Poonch district after land mines exploded due to forest fire which broke out in Balakote sub sector of tehsil Mendhar in Poonch district.
“A devastating fire broke out last night from PoK side and then engulfed several areas on this side from Balakote to Dabbi along the Line of Control,” official sources here said.
Several landmines also exploded due to the fire adding, “Army and Forest department officials acted swiftly and controlled the fire.”
However, no loss of human life was reported in the incident. (AGENCIES)
