UDHAMPUR, May 16: A major fire broke out at Grid Station in the Battal Ballian Industrial area this morning, resulting into huge loss.
The fire started at the Grid Station around 10:05 am and soon engulfed the entire station. Even as no loss of life has been reported, the Grid Station was completed gutted in the fire.
On getting information about the fire, DySP Hqrs Udhampur Prahlad Sharma, SHO Udhampur Raghuvir Singh and other officers also rushed to the spot. After hectic efforts under the supervision of Sarvesh Langer, Assistant Director Fire service, blazes were controlled by 11.45 am.
Cause of fire could not be ascertained and the matter is under investigation.
