Fire breaks out in plastic factory

JAMMU, Feb 17: Goods worth lakhs gutted in a major fire that broke out in a plastic factory in Gangyal industrial area on the city outskirts.
The fire broke out in Rambo Plastic Factory at about 2 PM during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, a police official said. He said acting swiftly, labourers residing in the Factory tried to control the fire from spreading further and in the meantime, three fire tenders and an ambulance rushed to the spot.
“The fire fighters took around 5 hours to douse the flames completely. No loss of life or injury was reported in the incident, but plastic goods worth lakhs destroyed in the fire,” the official said.
He said Gangyal police had taken cognizance of the matter.
