SRINAGAR: Fire broke out inside Jammu and Kashmir bank branch in north Kashmir district of Kupwara, resulting in minor damages to the structure.
Official sources said that panic gripped Drugmulla when some locals noticed flames inside the J&K bank branch early on Sunday morning. “The locals immediately informed the fire department,” adding that fire tenders from different parts of the district were rushed to douse off the flames.
The structure was partly damaged before the fire was doused off. “Short circuit is believed to be the cause of the fire.” However, customer records and vault are safe and no one was reported injured.
Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the same. (AGENCIES)
