RAMBAN, Jan 14: In a fire incident here at least four shops and several rooms of a triple storey residential building were badly damaged in Kabhi area of Gandhri block during wee hours of Tuesday.
Sources said the fire broke out in a shop in the building of Mohammad Ishaq Mir, son of Saraj Din Mir and the building comprised four rooms and four shops.
However there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the fire incident.
On getting information, Police, fire tenders from Fire and Emergency Services Department reached the spot and extinguished the fire with the help of locals and prevented the blaze from spreading to adjoining buildings.
Locals claimed that before the fire was controlled it had inflicted massive damage to the building wherein a Karyana shop of Abdul Gani Mir, a Medical shop of Abdul Latief, son of Talib Hussain, another Karyana shop and a tea stall of Muzafar Ahmed Daing, son of Ghulam Nabi suffered damage.
The locals of the area alleged that fire tenders arrived late due to which the building and shops in it suffered damage.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
