*Finance Secy assures suitable funds

SRINAGAR, June 3: Expressing concern over dilapidated condition of Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters at Batmaloo, Financial Commissioner Finance Department Dr Arun Kumar Mehta today assured suitable funds for improvement of the condition and procurement of fire tenders.
Dr Mehta paid a visit to Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters today and he was shown the entire complex by Director General Fire and Emergency Services V K Singh.
The Financial Commissioner visited various blocks including dormitories, mess, toilets, stores and workshop which were in bad shape and have not been repaired since 2014 floods.
He was informed that about 50 fire tenders are beyond repairs and need complete replacement.
The Financial Commissioner assured that suitable funds will be provided to improve the condition of complex and for procurement of fire tenders.
