The blaze, which erupted in the HMT Zainakote area, prompted a rapid response from the Fire and Emergency Services.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway, with authorities assessing the extensive damage inflicted upon the affected properties.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 5:30 a.m. after receiving notification of the incident.
However, upon arrival, a significant portion of the units had already succumbed to the flames.
“The fire spread rapidly within the units, resulting in substantial property damage,” stated the Fire and Emergency Service. “Approximately 60 percent of the units have been affected by the fire incident.”
Remarkably, there were no casualties or injuries reported during the firefighting operation.
Among the properties severely impacted by the blaze was a single-storey U-shaped structure housing three joinery mills under the name “Vass Enterprises,” along with a plastic furniture warehouse known as “Hi-Tech Furniture.”
The fire caused extensive damage to wooden frames, plastic furniture, timber, and machinery. Additionally, neighboring “Habiba Steel Industries” incurred partial damage to furniture, lockers, beds, and raw materials due to the fire.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing as authorities aim to determine the full extent of the damage inflicted by the blaze.
