UDHAMPUR, June 17: Fire broke out in the forest belt of Tarishi, Bali, Naroad in Udhampur District this morning, prompting the authorities and local volunteers to swing into action.
The blaze erupted in the Bali and Naroad forest area and rapidly spread over a large expanse of land. The fire was brought under control after much effort by today evening, said Range Officer Sanjeev.
The Forest Department as well as the Fire and Emergency Services, alongside local volunteers, launched an extensive firefighting operation in Tarishi Block.
There are no reports of any casualty or injury, officials said and added that the operation to completely douse the blaze was still underway.
