KISHTWAR, June 8: In a tragic incident today, a fierce fire broke out at a two-storey residential building in Dharbi Nagseni, under the jurisdiction of Kishtwar Police Station, resulting in the complete destruction of the property and valuable household items worth several lakhs.
Eyewitnesses reported that the flames were first spotted engulfing the house of Feroz Din, son of Abdul Gani Zargar, during the afternoon hours.
The local residents promptly informed the police and initiated rescue operations, while fire tenders and a team from the Red Cross were rushed to the scene from Kishtwar. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, the fire had already caused extensive damage.
The devastating incident not only claimed the family’s prized possessions but also destroyed the materials that were carefully stocked for their daughter’s upcoming wedding.
Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was triggered by a short-circuit within the premises. The local authorities have registered a case and commenced an investigation into the matter.
