Srinagar, Feb 18: A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) camp comprising at least 7 barracks were gutted today while seven INSAS rifles also got damaged in a massive blaze that raged in Tattoo Ground Batamaloo.
As per officials, the fire engulfed barracks of SSB camp at Batamaloo area of Srinagar at around 3 pm on Wednesday late night.
Soon after the blaze engulfed the barracks, fire tenders rushed to the spot and were able to douse down the flames after strenuous efforts.
The officials said that the fire started from a barrack of 10th battalion SSB which then engulfed other barracks as well.
“Seven barracks were damaged in the blaze while no loss of life has been reported,” officials said.
However, the officials said that at least 7 INSAS rifles were damaged fully in the fire incident. The cause of the fire as per officials is being ascertained.
