KATHUA, May 23: The forest fire has engulfed the three compartments of Rajvalta forest in Ramkote Sector of Kathua Forest Division.
According to reports the Rajvalta forest caught fire three days back and it has engulfed all the three compartments including 16, 17 and 18 causing a huge loss to green gold.
However, according to DFO, Kathua Forest Division, the fire was brought under control by this evening.
He said the Forest officials have been deployed in the area to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts and all preventive measures have been taken by the Department. He said the intensive heat wave could be the cause of the fire.
It may be recalled that earlier the forest in Billawar also caught the fire two days back but was brought under control later.
