Fire guts 2 buildings in Qamerwari, fireman hurt

Srinagar, Jan 8: Two structures housing shops and several rooms were today gutted in a fire incident in Qamerwari while a fireman was injured during the fire fighting.
The fire emerged from one building around 3 in the afternoon and later engulfed another structure and after firefighting efforts for over an hour, the blaze was finally doused down.
As per officials, 2 double-storied structures were involved in the fire while 9 shops on the ground floor and 9 rented residential rooms were on fire. Click here to watch video
“Both structures have suffered severe damage, while the ceiling has been partly damaged,” officials said.
During the fire fighting one fireman, Bashir Ahmad Rather posted at fire station Safa Kadal has been injured who was later taken to a hospital where he was discharged after necessary treatment.
To douse down the fire, officials said, 6 Fire tenders were dispatched to the spot under the supervision of Divisional Fire Officer, City, Tasdhuk Ahmad.
