JAMMU, Sept 12: Pakistan Army resorted to small arms firing, violating ceasefire at Kanga forests and Dodot Nullah in Balakote sector of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district at 11 am today.
Reports said the firing continued for about one hour.
The Indian side retaliated only to silence Pakistani guns.
No casualties or damage was reported on Indian side in Pakistan firing. During past few days, Pakistan Army had resorted to firing at Krishna Ghati sector violating ceasefire.
Reports said Pakistan Army was also trying to push infiltrators into this side under the cover of firing but hadn’t succeeded.
Army has been maintaining a high alert all along the LoC in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch following reports that militants could make all out attempts to intrude into this side.
