DODA, Nov 23: The first ever two day long ‘Doda film festival’ began here today with screening of movies on children, sports, culture, Government initiatives, climatic change etc.
District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode, formally inaugurated this unique event in the district.
SP Operations Doda R P Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion.
DDC, speaking on the occasion, elaborately explained about the motive behind launching this initiative in the district saying that it will engage, aware and entertain the youth through a variety of educational and entertaining documentaries for which there shall be no entry charges for audience. He said the initiative has been started on a pilot basis to get feedback of the general public.
In the first phase, students of various Government as well as private institutions besides general public shall witness screening of films on several subjects and issues including awareness regarding Government schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, documentaries based on the district level initiatives, movies on sports, climate change, patriotism and other burning social issues.
