KATHUA, Apr 26: One fisherman drowned while fishing in Thein Dam, Sandle, Basohli falling under the jurisdiction of Basohli Police Station late last night.
According to police, Mehar Chand son of Amar Nath resident of Basohli drowned, while fishing in the dam late night. His body could not be traced till the last reports came in. Police said NDRF team reached the site and they will start fishing out of the body from water tomorrow morning.
The Police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law.
Meanwhile, one person died at Hatli Morh near Railway crossing while crossing the road.
He has been identified as Kalika Prashad of Bihar. His accomplice Umesh son of Sudesh was injured and he has been admitted in District Hospital Kathua for treatment. The duo was hit by a car bearing registration number JK 21 -5750 when they were crossing the road. The driver of the car fled after accident and he is still at large.
Kathua Police has registered a case but no arrest has been made so far.
