UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: The five-day “Investigation of Cyber Crime” course, sponsored by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, concluded today at the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur.
This second iteration of the course, organized by I4C, saw the participation of 22 police officers, ranging from Inspectors to Deputy Superintendents of Police, representing various States and Union Territories.
Among the participants were officers from Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bhopal, and 16 officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The course aimed to enhance the investigative capabilities of law enforcement officers in tackling cybercrime effectively and collaboratively.
Throughout the sessions, attendees engaged in extensive discussions, practical demonstrations, and deliberations covering a diverse range of cybercrime topics.
These included Phishing, Vishing, Cyberbullying, Email and SMS Bombing, Analysis of CDRs/IPDRs, IP Address tracking, IT Act and its Amendments, Bank Frauds, Mobile Forensics, Email Tracing, as well as the collection and preservation of electronic evidence.
Moreover, the course delved into Standard Operating Procedures for seizing computers and mobile devices, Email Forensics, Steganography, Cryptography, and Hashing techniques.
Notable speakers, including experts from GCET Jammu, SMVDU Katra, CID Headquarters, and Cyber Police Station Jammu, provided insights and expertise on various facets of cybercrime investigation.
At the valedictory function, Garib Dass, ADGP, Director at SKPA, emphasized the significance of keeping abreast of modern techniques in combating cybercrimes. He highlighted the crucial role of first responders in swiftly and effectively addressing cybercrime incidents.
The event also saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Ramnish Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director SKPA, and other key personnel from SKPA.
Inspector Chander Mohan and Inspector Rohit Gupta, along with HC Sanjay Kumar and other faculty members of SKPA, actively contributed to the success of the course.
