JAMMU, Nov 19: The five-day FDP-cum-Training Program on ‘Media Writing and Program Production’ organised by the Department of Mass Communication and New Media, Central University of Jammu culminated with the valedictory function here today.
Eminent personalities from diverse fields of media including Rajesh Badal, Former Executive Director RSTV, Nimish Kapoor, Scientist, Vigyan Prasar, Rakhee Bakshi, News Anchor, DD News and Zee News, Surbhi Chawla, Freelancer and Editor, Jagmohan, AIR Jammu were invited as resource persons for this five-day long workshop.
The technical sessions of training program were enriched with knowledge and learning where Rajesh Badal broadly discussed about biopic production. He touched on all the important aspects of writing news and how to gather ideas for your news story.
Another prominent speaker Rakhi Bakshi made students aware of the minute details of various types of anchoring including news anchoring, sports anchoring, entertainment driven anchoring, and digital anchoring.
Nimish Kapoor during his sessions emphasized on the importance of Science Communication in this fast-paced world which is highly technology-driven.
Other important resource persons Surbhi Chawla and Jagmohan talked about the technicalities of video production and how a radio program is produced.
Prof Deepak Pathania, Department of Environmental Sciences, Central University of Jammu was the chief guest for the valedictory function. During his address, he emphasized on the importance of media in shaping the society.
Dr Baccha Babu, Head-in-Charge, Department of Mass Communication and New Media presented a formal vote of thanks.
Around 150 participants including those who joined the workshop through physical mode as well as those who were connected digitally were felicitated with a certificate of participation.
Other faculty members who attended the valedictory ceremony were Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, Dr Shashank Shukla, Dr Ratnesh Yadav, Ashwani Kumar, Dr Archana Kumari and Dr Bhaskar Bhonsale.
he entire training program was jointly organized in collaboration with the State Bank of India, Northern Command Udhampur, Ahluwalia Constructions, and media partners of the workshop were Dainik Jagran, JK Channel, Amar Ujala and Daily Excelsior.
