Five drug peddlers held with heroin

JAMMU, Apr 6: Police claimed today that they have arrested five drug peddlers from different areas of Jammu District and recovered 119.5 grams of heroin from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that 100 grams of heroin was recovered by a team of Police Post Sarwal led by SDPO West Vikram Singh assisted by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Vishal Shoor and incharge Police Post Sarwal PSI Baljeet Singh, from three persons identified as Tariq Hussain of Mora Bachari, Tehsil Surankote, Poonch; Tasadiq Hussain of Bandi Chachian, Tehsil Haweli, Poonch, and Maqsood Hussain Shah of Nagali, Tehsil Haveli, Poonch.
Similarly, he said, 6 grams of heroin was recovered by a team of Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma from one person identified as Ravi Kumar of Dhalwas, Tehsil and District Ramban.
He further said that another team of Police Station Arnia led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh assisted by SHO Arnia Inspector Deepak Katoch recovered 3.5 grams of heroin from one person identified as Amit Raj of Rakh, Arnia.
“All the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the law registered at concerned police stations and further investigations taken up,” added the police spokesperson.
