JAMMU, Dec 18: Five persons were arrested for assaulting two siblings at their shop at Palwan area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Akhnoor here.
A police spokesperson said that on December 17, 2023, a complaint was lodged by one Davinder Kumar son of Romesh Lal of Palwan, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu, stating therein that some persons attacked him and his brother Rajinder Kumar at their shop with sharp-edged weapons and batons.
On this, a case FIR number 338/2023 Under Sections 452,323,504,506, 147 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
During investigation, the special police teams of Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq arrested five individuals, who confessed to their involvement in the crime during sustained questioning.
They have been identified as Anil Kumar, Suman (Tinku), Amit (Shunna), Arun Kumar (Kannu), and Subash Chander, all residents of Village Palwan, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu.
Police have started further investigation into the matter.
