PADDAR, Nov 28: At least 10 families were left shelterless when five houses including granaries gutted in fire at Garh, a peripheral village under Massu Panchayat, here today.
“Fire broke out at about 4 pm in the house of one Mohan Lal and it engulfed four adjacent houses of Nand Lal, Ishar Das and others, resulting in damage to all the four structures”, said Sarpanch of the village, Om Nath.
There was no report of any loss of human life, he said, adding that some cattle also perished in the blaze.
The fire victims not only lost their houses and immovable properties in the blaze but their hard earned yields were almost charred in the fire, he said.
The Sarpanch said that as the tehsil administration could not reach the spot due to lack of road connectivity, the fire could be doused only by the locals.
He urged the administration to provide adequate compensation to the fire victims.
