Five injured in separate road accidents

JAMMU, May 3: At least five persons sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Jammu District today, police said.
They said one Ashok Gupta (70) son of Chunni Lal of Talab Tillo was hit by an unknown vehicle at Shakti Nagar area, resulting in injuries to the elderly man.
The injured was rushed to Government Medical College Jammu by his son-in-law, where he is undergoing treatment, said police.
At Rangoora, police said one Mushtaq Ahmed (19) son of Gafoor Ahmed of Rangoora, Batra, and Sahil Tanveer (17) son of Akhter Ali of Rangoora, Majeen, Batra, suffered injuries after an Alto car hit by a footpath, police said.
Two persons identified as Puneet Sharma (35) son of Kasturi Lal of Narwal Bypass and Mohammad Akram (12) son of Nazir Hussain of Karyani Talab, Narwal Jammu, suffered injuries at SK Bridge Gujjar Nagar Jammu after an auto was hit by a load carrier.
All the injured have been shifted to Government Medical College Jammu where they are responding to the treatment.
Meanwhile, cases under the relevant sections of the law have been registered at concerned police stations and further investigations taken up.
