Five injured in mishap

JAMMU, Apr 29: Five persons were injured in a mishap in Keri area falling within the jurisdiction of police station Gharota.
According to a police spokesman, five passengers sitting on the roof of mini-bus bearing registration number JK02BB-4809 were injured after hitting by a branch of a tree in Keri area of city outskirts.
He said that the mishap occurred this morning when the driver of the speeding mini-bus, which was on its way from Rabta to Agore, tried to overtake another mini-bus bearing registration number JK08A-1279.
“The injured identified as Gulzar Hussain (450 son of Nawab Din, Mohd Sharif (62) son of Gulam Rasool and Sahid Ahmed (16) son of Mohd Shakeel, all residents of Dhanu and Khalid Hussain (14) son of Talib Hussain and Shaheed Ali (15) son of Noor Ahmed, both residents of Keri, were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for treatment”, the spokesman said.
He further said that a case in this connection was registered at police station Gharota and both the vehicles responsible for the mishap seized while the efforts were on to nab their drivers, which managed to escape from the spot.
