JAMMU, Feb 10: Five advocates have filed nomination papers for the post of president of J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Jammu as today was the last date for filing nomination papers for various posts of the office bearers of the Bar Association, election for which will be held on February 25.
The candidates for the post of president are Advocate K Nirmal Kotwal, Advocate Parveen Kapahi, Advocate Sachin Gupta, Senior Advocate Surinder Kour and Senior Advocate Vikram Sharma. Elections of the office bearers of JKHCBA Jammu were notified vide Notification Number JKHCBAJ/22/2174 dated 21-12-2022.
For the post of vice-president, 3 nominations have been received and the candidates are Advocate Amit Gupta, Advocate Jasvinder Singh (Jassi) and Advocate Monish Chopra whereas 2 nominations have been received for the post of general secretary. The candidates for general secretary are Advocate Ajay Bakshi and Advocate Parvesh Singh Salaria.
Likewise, 2 nominations have been received for the post of joint Secretary and 4 nominations for the post of treasurer. The candidates for joint secretary are Advocate Chetan Misri and Advocate Shiv Dev Thakur while candidates for the post of treasurer are Advocate Gaurav Arora, Advocate Suhail Bharti, Advocate Utkarsh Pathania and Advocate Vikram Singh Sohil.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers as per schedule shall be held on 13-02-2023 at 1.30 PM in the office of President/Returning Officer, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
