JAMMU, Sept 17: Gangyal police arrested five notorious burglars and recovered around 30 tolas gold and 500 grams silver valuing Rs 13 lakh.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) South Vinay Sharma while interacting with media persons here today.
Divulging the details, SP informed that a team was constituted to work out burglary case, which arrested five thieves involved in theft cases registered with Police Stations Bagh-e-Bahu, Channi Himmat and Gangyal.
The arrested thieves were identified as Talab Hussain, son of Abdul Hamid of Lohar Tehsil Malhar District Kathua, Ram Kumar, son of Gopi Chand of Khori Tehsil Arnas District Reasi, Javed Ahmed, son of Gulzar Ahmed of Bataera Tehsil Basohli District Kathua, Mohammad Sharif alias Tinda, son of Mohammad Gulzar of Koti Chadha, Tehsil Bani, District Kathua and Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohd Din of Machedi, District Kathua.
SP further stated that the arrested burglars confessed their involvement in theft case registered under FIR Number 22/18 with Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu, FIR Number 70/19 with Police Station Channi Himmat and FIR Numbers 98/14, 95/18 and 25/19 with Police Station Gangyal.
On the disclosure of the arrested thieves, police team recovered around 30 tolas gold and 500 grams silver valuing Rs 13 lakh, SP South informed.
The arrest was made by SHO Gangyal Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and Incharge Police Post Greater Kailash SI Ranjit Singh under the supervision of SDPO South Ram Singh, SP South Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
