SRINAGAR, Jan 5: Five persons of a family from Baramulla, including three children, who were putting up in a rented accommodation here, died due to suspected asphyxiation today.
A couple and their three children were found unconscious at their rented accommodation at Sheikh Mohalla in Pandarethan area of Srinagar under mysterious circumstances, a police official said.
He said they were immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared them as dead on arrival.
According to the police official, an electric blower was found in the confined room of the deceased persons.
While the cause of the death appears to be suffocation but inquest proceedings have been initiated to further investigate into the matter, the police official said.
