RAMBAN, June 21: Five shops gutted today in a fire incident in Seri area of the district.
According to the reports, a mysterious fire broke out this morning in one of the shops at Seri and soon the fire engulfed five other adjacent shops. The shops gutted in the fire were Rahmatull Bhat Tea Stall, Shabir Ahmed Bhat Hotel and Kiryana store, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat Chiken shop, Anorod Singh furniture store and Gulzar Ahmed denting and painting shop.

One welding gas cylinder kept in the denting and painting shop also exploded with a bang due to fire. Fire tenders from fire station Ramban which is 3 kilometres away from Seri reached the spot and doused the flames.
A case has been registered in this connection at police station Ramban and as per preliminary investigation; short circuit was the reason of the fire.
