Five shops gutted in mysterious fire in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, June 27: Five shops were gutted in a mysterious fire that broke out in the intervening night of June 26-27, 2024, in the revenue village Piyas in Tehsil Nagseni of Kishtwar district.
All five shops, owned by Talib Hussain, son of Gh Hussain, resident of Piyas, Nagseni, were completely destroyed in the blaze.
According to police, two of the shops were rented to Zulfkar Ali, son of Sher Mohammad, who operates a Kiryana store and another shop was rented to a Government fair price shop (ration depot), while Talib Hussain himself runs Kiryana stores in the remaining two shops.
A rescue operation led by Tehsildar Nagseni Rafie Naik, NT Patharnaki Krishan Jandiyal, and Police Post Padyarna in-charge Rishav Jasrotia, was conducted under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Devansh Yadav but the fire couldn’t be contained on time, they said.
While property worth lakhs has been destroyed in the fire no loss of life or injury has been reported in the mysterious fire.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and an investigation is underway.
