Fix targets as per proposed outlay: Jora

RAMBAN, June 22: Fix targets as per the proposed outlay for the time bound completion of targeted works and multifaceted development and upliftment of masses in the newly created District Ramban. This was stated by the Minister for Housing and Urban Local Bodies Nawang Rigzin Jora while chairing DDB meeting.
Minister of State for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Aijaz Ahmed Khan, MoS Technical Education, CAPD, Power and Information Vikar Rasool Wani, MP Ch. Lal Singh, MLA Ramban Ashok Kumar, MLC Shyam Lal Bhagat, MLC Dr. Shehnaz Ganaie, DDC Ramban S.V Meena and SP Ramban besides various Head of Departments, District and Sectoral Officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting the District Annual Plan for the year 2013-14 to the tune of Rs. 7081.28 lakh was approved by the District Development Board which comprises of a Revenue Component of Rs.2257.74 lakh and Capital Component of Rs. 4823.54 lakh.
While presenting the physical and financial achievements made by various Departments in the District under Annual Plan 2012-13, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, S.V Meena apprised the meeting that against an allocation of Rs. 6876.03 lakh, the actual availability was Rs. 5712.32 lakh against which Rs. 5707.99 lakh has been incurred in the District ending March 2013.
DDC Ramban presented sector wise proposed outlay under Annual Plan 2013-14.
Mr. Jora directed the officers to expedite the pace of planning and implementation work on various developmental projects in the District, He said that various developmental schemes have not been  completed due to inadequate funding through the concerned agencies. He directed the officers to take up the loan component from LIC.
He impressed upon the officers to fix targets as per the proposed outlay for the time bound completion of targeted works and said that area specific planning and implementation of schemes and developmental works is vital for the development of the district at par with the other districts in the State.
While responding on the issue of shortage of transformers in the District, the Minister said that various works under RGGVY should be expedited to provide requisite power supply to the unelectrified areas in the district.
To meet out the deficiency of teaching staff in most of the Government schools, directions were passed  for rationalization of teachers, so that the schools having deficiency of teachers get adequate teaching staff. He also directed them to reflect the vacancies of teaching staff to the administrative department., so that vacancies are filled at an earliest.
Minister of State for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Aijaz Ahmed  Khan, put forth various issues, which include exploration of tourism potential in the region, time bound completion of ongoing road projects, electrification of un-electrified areas.
MoS Technical Education, CAPD, Power and Information Vikar Rasool Wani, expressed concern over shortage of teaching staff in Govt schools.
