Fixation of rates

Sir,
It is strange and shocking too that fixation of prices for essential items of daily use have not been fixed by the concerned authorities to control and to check the malpractices during festival season when the consumption is more. In turn, it gives free hand to business houses and retailers to charge the rates from consumers of their choice.
Even the enforcement agencies cannot check  the rates without knowing the fixed rates of items like meat, milk products, phania kutlame etc etc.
No doubt the main focus of Govt is on flood effected areas but the whole Govt machinery is not for one particular area and more over rates have not been fixed for the last many years. If at all they have been fixed, these rates are not known to common consumer as the same have not been published in any paer, no rate list is displayed. Even if it is, still people are chrged more. It appears that administration loves to remain a silent spectator by forgetting that they are also consumers in society.
Yours etc…
