Flood victims require immediate relief materials: DLSA

JAMMU, Sept 15: For providing relief and assistance to the flood and landslide affected people due to recent rains, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Udhampur constituted a core group, who visited affected areas of Pancheri and other villages including Lodana, Jakheni, Kotla and Sui Sambal in district Udhampur.
The core group was led by Jatinder Singh Jamwal, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Udhampur, while as other members are BA Munshi, Special Mobile Magistrate (Sub-Judge) Udhampur, president and senior members of Bar Association.
The core group felt that the victims of the disaster required immediate relief materials including ration, clothes and shelters. Besides this immediate steps are needed to be taken for those people whose houses are considerably damaged and are at the verge of collapse. Priority needs to shown to speed up the process of assessment to damages to the houses and property of the victims of the disaster.
The core group also felt that coordination between Army, NDRF and Civil Administration for proper distribution of relief, ration and other donations/contribution from different sources to the victims with concerned efforts.
Similar steps have also been taken by TLSC Ramnagar, Majalta and Chenani.
