JAMMU, Sept 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police today organized a wreath laying ceremony to pay homage to Head Constable Bashir Ahmed, who got martyrdom during an encounter with terrorists in Billawar.

The ceremony was organized this evening at Gulshan Ground, Gandhi Nagar, here. Nalin Prabhat, Director General of Police, Operations and Security J&K and other senior police personnel paid homage to the martyr.

Speaking on the occasion, Nalin Prabhat said J&K Police stands by the family of the martyr at this critical juncture and pay rich tributes to the Martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty.
All other police officers, colleagues and family members also paid rich tributes and laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the martyr. The martyrs’ body was later on handed over to his next of kin for last rites.
J&K Police Head Constable Bashir Ahmed had attained martyrdom on Saturday while fighting against terrorists in village Kog (Mandli), under the jurisdiction of Police Station Billawar in district Kathua. However, the braveheart of Kathua Police earlier neutralized the terrorist commander by firing from his LMG just 100 m away from the target house.
Son of late Makhan Din and resident of Sector 4, Channi Himmat (Jammu), the martyred Head Constable is survived by his wife, two sons and as many daughters.
