JAMMU Nov 1: Flower growers from different parts of Jammu division met here, today under the leadership of Tajinder Singh Wazir, president, Flower Growers Association and appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Mallik to intervene in the most important issue of flower marketing during this festival season and save them from the impending trouble.
They have expressed that the Dewali season provides them a seasonal opportunity within a limited time span to sell their flowers in the open market to earn remunerations for a secure livelihood, but unnecessarily restrictions imposed by Police Department and harassment caused by them is hampering their business.
Wazir said the flower growers are not opposed to improvement in traffic system in the city and they are aware of it and will fully cooperate as law abiding people. But unnecessarily harassing flower growers and sellers during the market who used to cover foot paths on road side will hamper their business during this festival season.
