FM warns Deptts purchasing textiles from outside

JAMMU, Aug 8: The State Ministry of Finance has warned the departments purchasing textile items from the private firms and made it mandatory for all departments/ Corporations to make ensure supplies from J&K State Handloom Development Corporation.
Principal Secretary to Government, Finance Department, in a fresh circular issued warn such departments which are violating the standing Govt order No. 1456-GAD of 1983, dated 20-9-83. It said that all the Government departments are required to make purchases of all types of textile items only from J&KSHDC.  The circular said that the rates of these products are fixed on yearly basis by a high powered committee after which orders for the supplies can be placed without inviting tenders or quotations. No decision is required to be taken by the purchase committees on prices and they have only to ensure that they receive the goods as per the specifications.
