FMPHWs stage protest, meet Advisor

JAMMU, Sept 4: Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers’ Welfare Association, Jammu province today staged protest in support of their demands and later met BB Vyas, Advisor to Governor to apprise him of their burning issues.
Led by Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHWs Welfare Association, scores of employees assembled outside the office of Chief Medical Officer, Jammu and staged protest. They raised anti-Government slogans for not fulfilling their long pending demands including permanent solution of salary head 2211.

They also highlighted other demands like delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release of pending salary since March 2018, fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech.
The protesting employees also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, publication of seniority list of FMPHWs in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50% quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for last 27 yrs.
Later, a deputation of the Association led by Vinod Kumar Sharma, secretary general, JKMEF, along with Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHWs Welfare Association, met with BB Vyas, Advisor to Governor SP Malik and highlighted burning issues of the association including pending salary of employees for last five months.
The Advisor assured the deputation members that he had already discussed their issues with Governor which will be solved in the Cabinet meeting very shortly but he did not specify any time period for the same.
At last, the association decided to continue dharna/protest in every district of Jammu province till the permanent solution of salary head 2211 and other burning demands.
