Srinagar, Mar 19: The Female Multipurpose Public Health Workers (FMPHW) of the Family Welfare Department today staged a protest against the administration demanding the release of their pending salaries from the past four months.
The health workers from various districts assembled in the Press Enclave and staged a protest against the authorities for the delay in the release of monthly salaries.
“This is sheer injustice as we are constantly working hard for the care of the society. Our salary has been withheld and we are made to suffer on a daily basis. We served as the frontline workers during the pandemic and instead of recognising our efforts, we are forced into being in a state of depression,” one of the FMPHW Neelofar said.
They said that their issue is the pending salary last four months. “We are working without salaries due to which our families are suffering. The authorities should take a note of it,” they said.
They said that the Budget session is currently on and that they hope that the central Government, LG administration with Health and family welfare department will look into the matter and settle the concerning issues.
They said that they are facing hardship as the authorities have not released their salaries last four months even as they said that they have taken loans from banks and without salaries they are unable to return it. “We are not in a position to pay regular school and college fees of our children,” they said.
