UDHAMPUR, June 4: A monthly meeting of All J&K ReT Teachers Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of State president Vinod Sharma and District president Lekh Raj Parihar. The meeting was attended by the District Executive Members and Zonal presidents.
The ReT Forum appealed  the Government  to release  pending salaries of SSA teachers within a short span of time and warned  to lock schools in protest at District  Headquarters and State level if the salary is not released
While speaking on the occasion,  Vinod Sharma,  on behalf of All J&K ReT Teachers Forum,  showed his strong resentment against the failure of Finance Minister to fulfill his announcement on the floor of the House during budget session regarding delinking of SSA salary and getting it streamlined from April 2017. The fact is that SSA teachers in the State are without salary for the last 5 to 6 months and are at the verge of starvation, he said.
“The  Education Minister had also assured us that SSA salaries will be streamlined before 30th of April 2017  but even after getting Rs 203 crore from Centre,  only one month salary was  released recently and more than Rs 100 crores are still unspent balance in SPD’s account where as teachers are badly suffering for the salary,” he further said and urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene in this matter so that salary of thousands of SSA teachers may be released.
Other demands discussed in the meeting, included issuance of regularization list of all EV converted ReT teachers who had completed 5 year ReT period in 2014, releasing salary of ReT teachers who have been deliberately kept in surplus category by CEO Doda, immediate release of the promotion list of Masters promoted under DPC 2014, transfer policy as per court judgement, regularization of genuine degree holders, etc.
