Focus on youth rehabilitation not liquor shops: NAUP

JAMMU, May 10: National Awami United Party (NAUP) chief, Sandeep Singh has urged upon J&K Lieutenant Governor to open drug de-addiction centres in each district of the UT so that the youth fallen prey to drug addiction can be helped by timely treatment and care.
Flaying the large scale opening of liquor shops in Jammu city, president NAUP advised LG administration to reduce the number of liquor shops and make efforts to ban sale and purchase of liquor in the city of temples.
Speaking in a meeting he said that the authorities must ensure parameters of opening liquor shops near an educational institute.
“Big crowds near liquor shops at all times worries ladies living nearby to such shops,” Singh maintained.
Bupinder Sharma, Vijay Choudhary, Parveen Kumar and Ravinder Kumar were also present in the meeting.
